Quick File Renamer App Reviews

Powerful but slow

The interface is very good. The renaming options are great. It’s easy to use. It’s very slow compared to File Rename Pro.

Didn’t work

I needed an app to rename my mp3 files from metadata. This wouldn’t do it. The files would load and all, but the Rename button never enabled. Wasted $5. Ended up buying another app for .99 that worked like a charm no complications. App named Music Renamer.

I agree with Daveen, potential but slow

A bit quirky but the ability to save sets of actions is the big plus here. And its slow.

Very Nice File Renamer

This is a very nice file renamer. I used it to change the extensions on about 4500 files and it workded without a hitch. Looks like it will do up to 100 files at one time. I was changing the extensions on the m4a files in ITunes to m4b to turn them into audio books instead of music files. Worked great.

Wonder renamer tool

I purchased this app because I had a huge transfer project that I wanted to rename all the images and video to something the client could easily understand. The app was easy to use and made hours of work into seconds with the renaming. Now I use it to organize images straight off the camera. Great tool!

Amazing flexibility, a bit of a learning curve.

Theres nothing about this app that couldnt be addressed by a "Getting Started" guide. That said, the flexibility it offers is amazing. Youll quickly figure out how to specify which file renaming options you wish to perform. You can change the order of the actions you specify (and there are a lot to choose from). My own personal challenge was trying to figure out how to enable the "Rename Files" button. It was grayed out, however the "Test Manual" button was enabled. Turns out that after executing "Test Manual" on my 5,000 files, I had to go through the batch looking for every one for which the App reported an error, then remove that from the file list. The error checking was preventing the app from inadvertently creating any duplicate file names, so that was OK. It just was not easy to locate those tiny red "X"s in a very long list of files... Now that I think about it, Id bet I could have figured out a way to have those duplicates named with a numerical sequence and saved myself some manual labor. That is, after all, what computers are supposed to be good at. As I said, a good "Getting Started" guide would have earned this app a five-star rating from me.

What a great tool...

It does what it says it will do and does it well. It’s not all that difficult to figure out how to use the tool and it comes with pre-execution results viewing window where you can preview the changes. What more can you ask for. It’s a dummy-proof tool and get’s my five star vote. Thanks for making a wonderful app.

Used it for renaming

I just renamed about 1,000 files in 20 folders. Adding prefixes, suffixes, and replacing text in filenames. Fast. But there was a quirk that meant I needed to clear Actions and clear Files before switching folders. Otherwise I would run into an error that caused the app to close.

Fantastic!!!

This app is so easy to use. It’s great to be able to rename a batch of files in a blink of an eye!!!!

Have not been able to use it…..

I had a chance to check the app. this is a great app if it worked and would be better if there was control as to what fields were selected from the metadata and order of fields… Such as: Artist Name - Song Title - Album or Artist Name - Album - Song Title… or just Artist Name - Song Title Thank you@
